Manazanar

Shadow of Manzanar is a new 4-movement suite for 20-piece jazz orchestra based on the WWII internment experience of artistic director Levi Saelua's family. Inspired by the Manzanar internment camp diary of his great-grandfather, Karl Yoneda, Levi spent a year visiting Manzanar in each season to develop a personal connection to the desolate region of California in the eastern Sierras.
